As I announced some time ago on my previous post about Deauville, not only had I the chance to get to know this wonderful city, but I was also able to attend the Festival Planche(s) contact.
The 8th edition of the photography festival enabled me to explore and stare at different sides of the city, along with internationally renowned photographers. This edition proposed the excellent beach of Deauville as a common thread for the varied exhibitions.
Deauville, fashion and photography setting
During the vernissage days I had the opportunity to visit the exhibitions, placed in different spots of the city, explained by the artists themselves, among others:
- Peter Lindbergh
He’s done fashion shoots in Deauville since the 80s for publications such as Vogue. His master pieces show in black and white a modern and natural woman. 22 photographs presented in a monumental installation on the beach where they were taken. - Agnès B.
Stylist, fashion designer and gallerist, she participated in this edition as a photography passionate as well as an associate art director. In addition, she also exhibited her own photographs of the city. - Françoise Huguier
Although she works part of her career for fashion, she focuses on social photography. For the festival she shows another different facet of Deauville through a photography collection of the most disadvantaged families in the city. - Claude Nori
In love with the eternal summers by the sea, he exhibits a series of photographs that will bring back those sensations and summer memories. - Vasantha Yogananthan
The young photographer gathers for the festival a set of portraits taken on any given day at Deauville beach. Photographs full of light and humanity.
Springboard for young talent
The festival is committed to young talents with its section Tremplin jeunes talents. Betty Bogaert, Julien Malabry, Nyima Marin, Yoann Olawinski and Felicia Simion form the selected group that enjoyed a 2-month artistic residency. Their artwork in Deauville was also exhibited during the festival, being the winner of the first prize Felicia Simion, with her series of disguised figures «Not from here».
That is not all though: the «off» section with 15 more exhibitions, the exciting photo contest La 25e heure Mondaine open to everyone… in short, the Festival planche(s) contact is a great plus when visiting Deauville, especially for those who love photography.

Como anuncié hace unos meses en mi anterior publicación sobre Deauville, no solo tuve la gran oportunidad de conocer esta bonita ciudad, sino que también pude asistir al Festival Planche(s) contact.
La octava edición del festival de fotografía me permitió explorar y contemplar diferentes facetas de la ciudad, de la mano de fotografos de renombre internacional. En esta edición se proponía la magnifica playa de Deauville como hilo conductor de las distintas exposiciones.
Deauville, marco en la moda y fotografía
Durante los días de la inauguración del festival tuve la ocasión de visitar las variadas exposiciones, en distintos puntos de la ciudad, explicadas por los propios artistas, entre otros:
- Peter Lindbergh
Desde los años 80 realiza reportajes en Deauville para publicaciones de moda como Vogue. Muestra en blanco y negro, una mujer moderna y natural. 22 fotografías presentadas en una instalación monumental sobre la playa en la cual fueron tomadas. - Agnès B.
Estilista, diseñadora de moda y galerista, participo en esta edición como amante de la fotografía y ejerciendo de directora artística asociada. Además, también expuso sus fotografías de la ciudad. - Françoise Huguier
Aunque trabaja parte de su carrera para la moda, se vuelca en la fotografía social. Para el festival muestra otra faceta diferente de Deauville mediante una colección de fotografías de las familias más desfavorecidas de la ciudad. - Claude Nori
Enamorado de los eternos veranos junto al mar, expone una serie de fotografías que haran que revivas esas sensaciones y recuerdos estivales. - Vasantha Yogananthan
El joven fotógrafo recopila para el festival un conjunto de retratos tomados un día cualquiera en la playa de Deauville. Fotografías llenas de luz y humanidad.
Trampolín para jóvenes talentos
El festival apuesta por los jóvenes talentos con su sección Tremplin jeunes talents. Betty Bogaert, Julien Malabry, Nyima Marin, Yoann Olawinski y Felicia Simion forman el grupo seleccionado que disfruto de una residencia artistica de 2 meses. Su trabajo en Deauville fue también expuesto durante el festival, resultando ganadora del primer premio Felicia Simion, con su serie de figuras disfrazadas «Not from here».
Y la cosa no acaba aquí: El «off» con 15 exposiciones más, el emocionante concurso fotográfico La 25e heure Mondaine abierto a todo el mundo… en definitiva, el Festival planche(s) contact supone un gran plus a la hora de visitar Deauville, sobre todo para los amantes de la fotografía.
