I have been able to enjoy a new edition of the San Sebastian International Film Festival, full of moving films, the presence of celebrities from the film industry and gatherings with old friends. First of all, I would like to thank again the blog Círculo del fotograma for the opportunity to attend and cover the event on my social media.

In the post I published last year, I already explained the reasons why this film festival is so special and I have no choice but to reaffirm them. Nine frenetic days full of cinema (mostly good), press conferences, photocalls and of course a bit of San Sebastian’s gastronomy in between.

Not to forget the three Donostia awards given to Costa-Gavras, Donald Sutherland and Penelope Cruz (this last one awarded by Bono, lead singer of U2). 

Top 5 of this edition

I would like to give you this top 5 of the 15 films that I saw during the 67th edition:

1. Joker
   The surprise film was the final touch of this edition, amazing us with the delightful interpretation of its main character, Joaquin Phoenix.
2. La trinchera infinita
   The film tells the story of Higinio, who helped by his wife Rosa, decides to hide at home being afraid of reprisals during the civil war and Franco’s dictatorship. The film got 5 awards at the end of the festival.
3. Rocks
   The topic of the film isn’t new but the outstanding interpretation of its young actors and the scenes that leave you on the verge of tears should be highlighted.
4. La hija de un ladrón
   First film of Belén Funes that tells us the relationship of Sara and her father after leaving prison. The interpretation of Greta Fernández made her the winner of the Silver Shell for best actress.
5. Diecisiete
   This road movie by Daniel Sánchez Arévalo will bring you a smile with its ironic script.

He podido disfrutar de una nueva edición del Festival de cine de San Sebastián, cargada de emocionantes películas, la presencia de celebridades del mundo cinematográfico y de reencuentros con viejos amigos. Antes de nada, me gustaría agradecer de nuevo al Círculo del fotograma por la oportunidad de poder asistir y cubrir el evento en mis redes sociales.

En la publicación que realicé de la edición pasada, ya os comentaba las razones por las que este festival de cine es tan especial y no me queda más remedio que reafirmarme en ello. Nueve frenéticos días llenos de cine (bueno en su mayoría), ruedas de prensa, photocalls y como no, un poco de gastronomía donostiarra entre peli y peli.

Cabe destacar los tres premios Donostia otorgados a Costa-Gavras, Donald Sutherland y  Penélope Cruz (este último entregado por el mismísimo Bono de U2).

Top 5 de esta edición

Me gustaría dejaros este top 5 de las 15 películas que he podido ver en esta edición:

1. Joker
   La película sorpresa puso el broche final de esta edición sorprendiéndonos con la magnifica interpretación de su protagonista, Joaquin Phoenix.
2. La trinchera infinita
   Relata la historia de Higinio, que ayudado por su mujer Rosa decide ocultarse en casa por miedo a represalias durante la guerra civil y dictadura de Franco. La película suma 5 premios al final del festival.
3. Rocks
   El tema de la pélicula no es nuevo pero quiero remarcar la buena interpretación de sus jóvenes actores y las escenas que te dejan al borde de las lágrimas.
4. La hija de un ladrón
   Ópera prima de Belén Funes que cuenta la relación de Sara y su padre tras salir de la cárcel. La interpretación de Greta Fernández la hizo ganadora de la Concha de plata a la mejor actriz.
5. Diecisiete
   Este road movie de Daniel Sánchez Arévalo provocará más de una sonrisa con su irónico guión.
